Dr. Miller is a US Fulbright Senior Research Scholar to China (2009-2010). He is a former Research Fellow of the Mental Research Institute (MRI), a Past President of the Oregon Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a Clinical Member of the American Family Therapy Academy (AFTA), the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA), and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
About Dr Jason J. Platt, Cambodia Exchange Co-Leader
Dr. Platt lives in Mexico and is the director for the Masters in Counseling Psychology program at the Mexico City campus of Alliant International University. He also the director of CSPP Latin American Immersion Programs, The Certificate in Latin American Family Therapy program, and the MFT Mexico Satellite program. He also runs an annual five-week cultural and Spanish language Immersion Program in Mexico City. The emphasis of his work is influenced by the ideas of Paulo Freire’s dialogical approach and the tenets of liberation psychology as described by Ignacio Martin Baro. He is interested in the role these theories can have in immersion education and in efforts to better address the mental health needs of international communities.
